Fire Trucks and Ambulances Increase Uptime, Decrease CO 2 Emissions
Emergency vehicles are using Magnetic Filter pads on their fuel and diesel filters. The use of the magnetic filter pads result in extended oil drain periods and increased engine life in emergency vehicles and other equipment. Having their equipment available more often is of great benefit to fire and other agencies who respond to emergency situations. Since hard metal particles (iron & steel) can score fuel injectors and can cause injector valves to stick, this can produce inefficient combustion resulting in greater CO2 emissions than necessary. The use of the filter pads was found to increase mileage and decrease these harmful emissions.
