I met Roger Simonson at a filtration conference in Houston and was very impressed with what they were achieving with their products. Consequently we contacted them and soon sold some filter bag inserts to a ship builder for use when flushing  shipboard  piping system.

The amount of contamination the magnetic filter trapped was amazing. I will now be installing an OEI Magnetic Y-Strainer on my main house water to extend the life of the expensive traditional filters. 

These are in the tanks that feed our cutters. There wasn’t a lot of material on the shaft of the one, because production had cleaned them before I got there. We can have anything from small wire to bearing pieces attached to this when we check them. Also, we have installed two of the Y-strainers in the makeup oil lines to our fryers, in these we see a great deal of small pieces of our wire fryer belting that have been hidden in our piping for a long time

It’s plausible to believe that this product will increase the longevity of our equipment

After 4 years of operation the magnetic filters are still doing a great job on all four of the mill water pump flush systems and we have not experienced mechanical seal failure due to particulate wear contamination and the cost of these magnetic filters have paid for themselves over and over.

I am very pleased with the performance of the magnetic scrubber system as it is removing significant amounts of metal contamination our regular drum filter is missing. We are employing additional magnetic filters throughout the plant to help with the contamination problem.

The One Eye Industries magnetic filter proved very efficient in capturing ferrous contamination. In both the fuel and lube oil, the use of this filter will avoid problems with the injectors and mobile parts.

BMA Blackwater have plans to utilize similar technologies that will reduce contamination and operating costs in components such as; final drives, transmissions, differentials and other mechanical gearboxes.

This colony runs an enormous amount of equipment and we find large reductions in maintenance time when we use cleaner fuel. It was no surprise the first time the magnetic element was removed for cleaning. It was totally covered with super fine particles. These are the same contaminants that would have run through our engines. We have not had to do any fuel system overhauls since the Scrubbers have been in
place – and because we keep detailed records we have noticed that our fuel economy has increased too.

The advantages to using this magnetic filtration technology are that it protects the circuit from the particles on startup, and after, and it is providing base level cleanliness to the dirty Nitrogen. Although most cold ends fail due to operating environment, there is still significant damage to components from contamination which increases the opportunity for failure at a cost of $2,200 per cold end, and the associated downtime.

Every other eccentric group and the gear box was protected from the contamination by this magnetic filter. The conventional filter in the lube oil circuit is partially bypassed by the relief valve, so would not have prevented growing metal content in the oil. The element does not have enough dirt holding capacity to have been able to contain this much contamination

Clearly OEI magnetic filters pick up ferrous and non-ferrous contamination below 20 microns traditional filters are unable to. Removal of this contamination during the break in stage will extend the engine component life reducing operational costs and increase uptime.

The Magnetic Scrubber now allows us to filter in both directions filtering out the particles finer than the 10 micron size that our standard filters are rated for. We have experienced a substantial reduction in pump wear and catastrophic failures since we installed the One Eye Industries Y-Strainers approximately three years ago.

The use of magnetic filters will be a standard with any magnetic pump application in the Taminco Facility in Gent. Belgium.

Had the Baldwin filters alone been installed this amount of contamination would have saturated 30+ filters

The real win here is the reduction to machine downtime. The frequency of filter related shutdowns have gone from 15-20 annually to ZERO. We have improved seal life, reduced operator exposure, and reduced disposable filter replacement costs. Additionally, for the first time ever, we have extended the oil change interval another 6 months which is an additional $20k in cost savings

As you can see, the filter worked very well. The stainless element filtered out a huge volume of contamination, and the magnet also captured a decent amount of ferrous matter. The compressor itself is now in much better shape than it was before. There were very few contaminants left in the oil sump. Teflon oil tubes that were stained black before after a few hundred hours are now opaque white like they are suppose to be. We are very pleased with your filters

I was impressed by the amount of wear contamination under 4 microns that was removed by the magnetic filter element

I’ve had zero failures of the fuel system components and the fuel system is still running well. I also changed the traditional paper filters every 100,000 miles / 160,000 km as a practice although replacement was not required, the pressure differential across the magnetic filter never exceeded 10 psi.

We completely rebuild our gearboxes every 20,000 hours and we like what we see. The magnetic filter catches all the debris and fines. This will extend the gearbox operational life significantly

When installing this filter it was placed after the inlet manifold, so filtration would occur during fuel transfer from tank to tank to balance the vessel, and fuel the engines and generators. Since installing this system we have not occurred any algae problems. I also have the BT900 magnetic filter pads installed protecting my engine oil

We mounted these because the year before we had quite a lot of problems with our fuel and lube systems due to water, metal and dirt. These magnetic filters have helped us considerably

The vehicle has been driven 1.7 million kilometers with this filter and the water pump only needed changed once in this time

We installed an OEI Scrubber before the pump and there have been no further pump problems at all. We bought an extra pump with the expectation that the existing one would fail in October – just like all of the others for the last 8 years. We went to inspect the pump and normally there is a pool of water around it but this time the ground was dry. Not even one drop of leakage. Amazing.
